Chinthake Wijesooriya is a doctoral researcher in Information Systems. He is a teacher, researcher, trainer, and a volunteer. Chinthake teaches Information Systems and Analytics while conducting research about online learning systems at the University of Queensland Business School in Australia. Over the years, he has accumulated a broad range of industry and academic experience. His experience includes 15+ years of industry in Australia, USA, New Zealand, Singapore, and Sri Lanka. He has 10+ years of academic experience in a AACSB accredited, QS ranking world top 50 universities. 


Chinthake’s PhD research is an investigation of formal and informal learning systems, where he explored the design of learning systems and how these systems effectively used for actual learning performance. His industry experience includes, developing and managing an online management training system and managing disaster recovery exercises for a very large organization based in USA, operating in 5 countries. He has delivered industry training programs, experienced in emergency management, and has been invited to speak at a conference about online learning systems and cyber security. His work has been published in international journals and in prominent information systems conferences. His industry experience includes and is not limited to, government/non-government, financial, insurance, production, distribution, inventory, water management, management training systems, and disaster recovery in the US, NZ, Australia and South Asia.

 

Chinthake is always looking for opportunities to share his knowledge and experience about online learning systems to improve the effectiveness of online learning systems for organizations and educational institutions.
